Solution

Phenol and formaldehyde are compound made of different elements. They are made of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. They are called as organic substances because they are mainly made of C. When many Phenol and formaldehyde are combined, they form long chain like structure. These chains are called polymer. The many chains also join together to give large polymer. Phenol and formaldehyde are known as monomers of polymer. Electric switches, comb etc. are made of such types of polymers.
