Common waste products of Mining Procedures and their RE- utilisation as resource

1. Dug Ground Soil for extracting mineral ore .

The soil that is removed from the ground to reach deep seated ores is gathered and collected over the mining area post all processes and used for re vegetating the area and contouring the area .

2. Broken Rock Pieces

The big rock mountains are manipulated and reduced to small rock pieces during the process of mining. These rock pieces can be reused for -
a) Reforming ground and covered with soil for vegetation
b) contouring of dams for absorbing excess water
c) mixed with cement and construction material for building purposes
d) used for production of bricks
e) mineral rich rocks for re-extracting precious minerals such as manganese etc.

3. Waste Mineral WATER

There is a considerable amount of water that is used in mining procedures, it may be collected and stored for re-treatment and made fit for drinking.

4. Slag

The inorganic slag material is used for fabricating cement and construction materials for construction of roads.

5. Sludge

a)The sludge water from metallurgical processes is often rich in iron and sulphur, it is chemically treated to form sulphuric acid; a commercially used chemical in industries and laboratories,
b)The red mud obtained is used for manufacture of glass and ceramics
