Solution

SPORES:

  • Spores are reproductive structures which can germinate and give rise to a new life.
  • They need not fuse with other reproductive cells.
  • Several non flowering plants, fungi, bacteria, protozoa etc produce spores as a means of reproduction.
  • Spores are formed both asexually and sexually.
  • Spores sometimes are very hard and may survive for years.
  • Unlike seeds, spores do not contain any food or resource, thus they are not eaten up by animals or insects.
