Ovaries are the part of female reproductive system. There are various advantages of ovaries. It act as both reproductive as well as endocrine organ in body. It functions as reproductive organ because it produces egg, which are required for fertilization. On the other hand it also act as a endocrine gland by producing hormones called estrogen and progesterone, which brings about secondary sex characteristics in the female body.
