what are the characterstics of viruses
Some of the characteristics of viruses are as follows
(i) Viruses are acellular.
(ii) Viruses are smaller than bacteria.
(iii) All viruses are obligate parasites i.e they cannot survive outside the host cell.
(iv) Viruses contain either DNA or RNA as genetic material.
(v) Viruses are host specific i.e, they infect only a single species and definite cells of the host organisms.
