Calyx:

  • Members are calles sepals
  • Calyx is generally green in colour
  • It protects the plant in th bud stage

Corolla:

  • Members are called petals.
  • They are brightly coloured
  • They attracts insects for pollination

Androecium

  • Male reproductive part composed of stamens
  • Each stamen consists of a filament and an anther.

Gynoecium

  • Female reproductive part made up of carpels
  • Carpel is made up of:
  • Style − connects stigma to the ovary
  • Stigma − receptacle for pollen grains
  • Ovary − enlarged basal part on which style lies
