There are different methods of contraception in humans. Some of them are as follows:
Physical Barrier methods that prevent the entry of semen into the vagina/ uterus of female. As a result no fertilization takes place and there will be no chance to become pregnant. This method includes condoms, diaphragms etc.
Hormonal methods which control the levels of hormones in female to prevent her to become pregnant. This method includes oral contraceptives, vaginal rings, emergency contraceptive pills etc.
Intrauterine methods which involve the insertion of certain harmless device like Copper T into the uterus to prevent the entry of sperm.
Sterilization or permanent method of contraception. These include vasectomy, tubal ligation etc.
