The factors responsible are as follows:
1) Population growth: the day by day increasing population needs more and more water supply which leads to the decrease in the ground water level.
2) Industrialization: Factories, construction works need water and they use ground water for this purpose without any control. This is also one of the major factors responsible for the decreasing ground water.
