what are the functions of ectoderm ,mesoderm and endoderm?
During embryonic development in triploblastic animals, three germ layers are formed known as ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm. They differ from each other slightly and are responsible for forming different organs of the body according to their composition and properties. for e.g.
ectoderm forms nervous system, hairs, nails, skin etc.
Mesoderm forms connective tissue, cardiovascular system, bones, muscles etc.
Endoderm forms lungs, liver, pancreas etc.
