2.It is used in commercial buildings and industries.The electric power industry is one of the largest consumer of natural gas.It is also used as both a raw material and as a source of heat in a wide variety of manufacturing processes .
Natural gas is an ingredient used to make fertiliser, antifreeze, plastics, pharmaceuticals and fabrics and in manufacturing a wide range of chemicals such as ammonia, methanol, butane, ethane, propane and acetic acid. Many oil refineries use it for heating and power generation.
