Following measures are taken by the government to expand non-farming activities in villages:
  1. Loans through Gramin Banks are made available at low rate of interest so that even people without savings can start some non-farm activity.

  2. Setting up of industries like handicrafts, textiles and weaving so that many villagers can get absorbed in these industries and earn their livelihood.

  3. Government is making provisions of good roads, transport and telephone,so that the opportunities for non-farm activities production in the village can increase in the coming years.
