What are the properties of a magnet ?

Properties of magnet:
1- Every magnet has two poles; a North pole and a South pole.

2- Opposite poles attract while similar poles repel and the size of poles determine its strength.

3-A freely suspended magnet always points towards the north-south direction.

4- Magnetic forces are stronger at the two poles than anywhere else along its length.

5- Every magnet has magnetic field lines which form close loops pointing from north to south pole.

6- A magnet tends to attract other magnetic material like iron, nickel, cobalt etc.
