In respect to their structure and functioning, both alveoli and Bowman’s capsule of the nephrons in the kidneys possesses network of blood capillaries.

Differences:

Alveoli:

  • Alveoli is involved in the respiration
  • It is present in the lungs.
  • The exchange of gases takes place in alveoli where impure blood is purified to oxygenated blood.

Bowman’s capsule:

  • Bowman’s capsule is involved in Excretion.
  • Cup shaped Bowman’s capsule present in the upper end of the nephrons in the kidneys.
  • The Bowman’s capsule of the nephrons purifies the blood by filtering out its waste products in the form of urine.
