Blood consists of fluid matrix known as plasma and formed elements. Plasma is a straw coloured, viscous fluid part of blood. Fibrinogen, albumin and globulins are the major proteins present in plasma. The formed element or blood corpuscles include various types of cells such as red blood cells or erythrocytes, white blood cells or leucocytes and platelets or thrombocytes.
