Solution

There are two major types of DNA.

  1. Genomic DNA - This comprises the genome of an organism. The genomic DNA controls expression of the various traits in an organism.
  2. Mitochondrial DNA - The DNA located in Mitochondria is called Mitochondrial DNA.

There are 3 different types of RNA.

  1. Transfer RNA ( tRNA) - As the name suggests, tRNA transfers specific amino acid molecules to a growing polypeptide chain.
  2. Messenger RNA (mRNA)- This carries information from the nucleus to the ribosomes.
  3. Ribosomal RNA ( rRNA)- Ribosomal RNA and protein combine together to form ribosomes.
