Water borne diseases are the diseases caused by pathogenic micro organisms present in the water. These are the infections which are caused to humans either due to the contact or due to the consumption of the water contaminated by pathogenic micro organisms, human or animal faeces. These diseases can be caused in various ways:
1) While taking a bath from the contaminated water
2) Drinking contaminated water
3) Washing
4) Consumption of food if it was made using the infected water
Some of the common water borne diseases are cholera, polio, typhoid, hepatitis.
