What causes carnivorous plants like venus fly trap, sundew to feel insects and smartly trapping them??
Carnivorous plants have mucilage or glue or other adaptations which makes insects stick to them . The binding of the insect is a trigger or a stimulus that brings about pressure and chemical changes leading to the trapping of the insect by either shutting the trap or pulling the insect down. The insect is then digested by enzymes mainly for its nitrogen content.
