What changes will occur in Fresh Water Fish if kept in Marine water ?

Freshwater fish cannot survive in marine water as it is not tolerant to high salt conditions of sea water. Salty water is hypertonic in comparison to the water inside the cells of fresh water fish. It causes fish to loose water from their cells quickly through exosmosis that results in its death.
