a. The two athletes ​Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their clenched fists ,wore black gloves and bowed their heads while the American national anthem was sung.
b. The Australian athlete who had won the silver medal wore a human rights T- shirt.
c. This way they tried to raise international attention against the human rights violation on the basis of colour in the World's oldest democracy that is US.
d. Their act symbolized black power and solidarity against racial discrimination.
