Question

what do froth stabilizers actually do? what is their function?

Open in App
Solution

In the process of froth floatation, the mineral particles which are wetted by oil are carried by froth and separated from impurities. Froth stabilizers such as aniline, cresols etc. are added to get a stable froth which can be skimmed off easily and dried to get mineral particles.
