WHAT DO U MEAN BY COMMUNICATION ? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT MEANS OF COMMUNICATION?

Communication is defined as to be able to exchange news, messages, information etc. from one place to another and from one person to another. The means used to communicate these news, messages and information are known as means of communication.

Broadly speaking there are two types of communication:

1. Personal communication: When communication occurs between two or more persons, then it is called personal communication. Common methods of Personal communications are;

1. Postal network such as letters, telegram and courier etc.
2. Email, fax etc.
3. Telephone, mobile etc.

2. Mass communication: When communication occurs between the informer and large number of people, then such communication is called mass communication. Mass communication plays a very important role in creating awareness among people about various issues. The major forms of Mass communications are;

1. Satellite media-radio, television etc.
2. Print media-newspapers, magazines etc.
3. Electronic media-internet and e-mails etc.
