Homologous chromosomes are those chromosomes that are paired up and are similar in length, staining pattern and centromere position. Homologous sites on these homologous chromosomes are the sites at same loci, if we say that alleles are present on homologous sites it means that they are present on the same loci of the homologous chromosomes or the corresponding positions on homologous chromosomes.
