The earthworm moves by first extending the front part of its body, while keeping its rear portion fixed on the surface. Then, it fixes the front portion on the surface and releases its rear end. It then shortens its body and pulls the rear end forward. Their movement can be said to be crawling movement.
Movement of earthworm is very slow. The movement also depends upon the surface on which it is moving.
