Hibernation is a suppressed metabolic state in which some animals pass their winters. It is a state of deep sleep.
Aestivation is a deep sleep or metabolic rest in amphibians and insects in response to hot and dry season.
Diapause is a period of suspended development in an animal mainly insects , called as animal dormancy in response to changes in environmental conditions.
