what do you mean by virtual and actual intersection of light rays?

Open in App
Solution

When the directions of the reflected light rays are produced backwards and they intersect at a point behind the mirror or lens, the intersection is called virtual intersection of light rays. A virtual image is formed when there is virtual intersection of light rays.

Actual intersection of the light rays is the one in which the reflected light rays intersect in front of the mirror or lens. A real image is formed when there is actual intersection of light rays.
