Question

WHAT DOES CONTINOUS AND PARTICULATE MEAN WHEN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT MATTER IN THE FIRST CHAPTER?

Open in App
Solution

If matter is continuous in nature then it means that the the process of dividing the matter could be continued indefinitely, meaning thereby that there is no small unit.
But it is not the case, there is one stage beyond which the dividing process can not be done. Further division would result in destroying the matter. Thus actually matter is made up of very small particles which have space in between and are continuously moving. That is matter is particulate in nature
