Chlorophyll a , chlorophyll b and chlorophyll c are types of chlorophyll. They only differ in the number of molecules of different element they have like carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen etc.

Chyll a is a universal pigment found in all green plants whereas others may be present in addition to the chyll a.

They are photosynthetic pigments which absorb light energy from sun and initiate the process of photosynthesis.
