Transpiration is the process by which plants release excess water into the atmosphere from the leaves and stems through stomata, cuticle and lenticel during day.This is an evaporation pocess in which the excess water in plants is released into atmostphere in the form of water vapours. The heat required for this process which converts water into water vapours without altering the temperature is called latent heat of transpiration.
