Question

what happens to g ,when earth stops rotating about its own axis ?

Open in App
Solution

The acceleration due to gravity will not be affected if the earth stops spinning. It is only dependent on the mass and radius of the earth, which will not change drastically if the earth stops spinning. But, the centrifugal force due to the earth's rotation would stop and the things on the planet, including you, me and the environment would go flying in the direction of the rotation of the earth due to inertia.
