What happens to the red light which is not scattered when sunlight falls ? we are able to see the blue light , but why not red , ?

We know that the scattering of light by the layer of atmosphere makes the sky blue in colour. This is because we see the scattered light in the sky.
The scattering of light is inversely proportional to the fourth power of the wavelength (or it is proportional to the fourth power of the frequency). So, higher the frequency of light more of it will be scattered and vise versa. Blue colour (or violet) has the highest frequency and thus will get scattered more than others (red is thus the least scattered) and thus absorbed.
