Question

What happens when an emulsion is centrifugated? And same for colloidal solution?

Open in App
Solution

Emulsion is a mixture of immiscible liquids and is similar to a colloidal sol (except the fact that colloids contain particles).Upon centrifugation both emulsions and colloidal solutions will separate. The same process is used for separation of milk into skimmed milk and cream.
