What happens when ?
1. Calcium oxide reacts with hydrochloric acid.
2. Aluminium hydroxide reacts with hydrochloric acid.
3. Acetic acid reacts with calcium hydroxide.
4. Hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium hydroxide.
Also give the chemical equation for each.
Classification of the following salts as neutral, acidic or basic along-with their name.
HCOOK & (NH4)2SO4
1) CaO(s) + 2HCl(aq)-------> CaCl2(s) + H2O(l)
2) Al(OH)3+ 3 HCI...........> AlCl3 + 3 H2O
3) 2 CH3COOH +Ca (OH)2 ---------> Ca(CH3COO)2 + 2H2O
4) HCl + NaOH--------> NaCl + H2O
They are salt and hence neutral.
HCOOK = Potassium formate
(NH4)2SO4 = Ammonium sulphate.
