Carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen and formaldehyde are pollutants (emitted from vehicles) react with rain and results in acid rain which gives very harmful effects.

When we mix all these pollutants with water, then the water would be polluted and would be some what equal to acid rain which is highly harmful.
