What is a wisdom tooth?Why does it only appear at the age of15?

Molars are the fourth kind of teeth. There are three molars found on each side of upper and lower jaws next to premolars. They are used to crush and grind food. Third molars on each side of upper and lower jaws are also called wisdom teeth because they appear so late, when we get wise. Wisdom teeth appear in teens or early twenties( time of young adulthood), between ages of 17 and 25. Although sometimes they appear many years later.
They appear so late because they need space to grow which is not there in our jaw when we are borne. The size of jaw grows as we grow and time to time different molars appear.
