what is actually RNA? and how is ribosome connected to RNA?
Dear Student!
RNA stands for ribonucleic acid. There are nitrogenous bases (Adenine, Uracil, Guanine and cytosine) ribose sugar and phosphate groups, these together are called nucleotides. Nucleotides are joined together by phosphodiester bond in a RNA molecule.
There are 3 types of RNA
1. messenger RNA (mRNA)
2. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA)
3. Transfer RNA (tRNA)
mRNA binds to the smaller subunit of ribosome.
