Alpha particles discovered by Ernest Rutherford in 1899. Alpha particles are positively charged particle, identical to the nucleus of the helium-4 atom, these particle emitted by radioactive substances, with consisting of two protons and two neutrons combined together and having a mass of four units and a positive charge of two.

Major use of alpha particle is in radioactivity physics as well as Quantum Physics.
