An individual or a group of people involved in the production or distribution of goods or services with the primary object of sale is called an enterprise.
On the basis of ownership, enterprise can be classified into

1. Private Sector Enterprises (Reliance Industries)
2. Public Sector Enterprises (BSNL)
3. Joint Sector Enterprises (Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.)
