Question

what is called as OBLIQUE COLLISIONS ?

Open in App
Solution

Hi,

The type of collision in which the center of masses of the colliding bodies are not in the same line is called oblique collision.

The momentum of the system will be conserved in every case. While the kinetic energy of the system will depend on whether the collision is elastic or not. For elastic collision the KE will also remain conserved. But for an inelastic collision the KE of the system will be less after collision.
