Solution

Dear Student,

The cell wall is the outermost layer surrounding the cells of plants, fungi, and bacteria. The cell wall provides rigidity, additional protection, and structure to the plant cell. Animal cells lack cell walls. In the plant cells, the cell wall is made up of cellulose, while in fungi it is composed of pectin. The bacterial cell wall is composed of a complex substance called peptidoglycan.
