While " dilute" is used, when the amount of acid or base is very less.
Therefore, these terms are used to tell the concentration of acid or base in water like concentrated sulphuric acid or dilute sulphuric acid.

Concentrated Sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄) is used as dehydrating agent as it has strong affinity for water. It is also used as oxidising agent.
