What is depletion of water

Water drawn from under the ground gets replenished by rainwater . The water table does not get affected as long as we draw as much water as is replenished by natural process. If the water is not sufficiently replenished, water table goes down. and the water level gets reduced or goes down.This is called depletion of water.
