Question

what is difference between convex mirror and convex lens??

Open in App
Solution

A mirror forms an image by reflecting light; but the image formed by the lens is due to refraction of light.
If the reflecting surface of the mirror is bulged inward, then it is a concave mirror.
If the reflecting surface is bulged outward, then it is a convex mirror.
Similarly, the concave lens has two surfaces, which are bulged inward and it is transparent.
The spherical surfaces of the convex lens are bulged outward and are transparent.
