  • Molecule of an element is formed by combination of the atoms of that particular atoms only.

e.g. Molecule of Nitrogen is formed by combination of two atoms of N only i.e. N2.

Molecule of oxygen is formed by combination of two atoms O only i.e. O2.

  • Molecule of a compound is formed by combination of atoms of different elements.

e.g. CO2 is formed by combination of 1 atom of C and two atoms of O.
