Solution

The electromotive force (EMF) is the maximum potential difference between two electrodes of a galvanic or voltaic cell. EMF is related to the tendency for an element, a compound or an ion to gain or lose electrons.

In electricity the emf is the potential difference of the battery connected across any conductor.

In magnetism emf is generally used for induced emf when magnetic flux changes.
