It is a movement of water outside the cell through a semipermeable membrane when placed in hypertonic solution/medium (concentration of the solution is more than the cell)	It is a movement of water inside the cell through a semipermeable membrane when placed in hypotonic solution/medium (concentration of the solution is less than the cell)
It can make a cell flaccid	It can make a cell turgid.
