what is enthalpy of neutralisation?
Dear student!
Enthalpy of neutralization is the heat released or change in enthalpy when an acid and base undergo a neutralization reaction to form one mole of water and salt.
When, the neutralization is carried in standard condition of temperature (298K) and pressure (1atm), then it is called as standard enthalpy of neutralization.
For ex:
NaOH(aq) + HCl(aq) ---> NaCl(aq) + H2O(l)
Here, the change in enthalpy is -57 KJ/mol and is known as enthalpy of neutralization(ΔneuH ).
