what is halides and anhydrous halides.explain with th e help of examples
Halides are compounds formed by halogens when they react with elements more electropositive than themselves.
Halides tend to be hygroscopic i.e. have affinity for water/moisture.
E.g. Pure CaCl2 is an anhydrous halide.
But when exposed to moisture it becomes CaCl2.2H2O which is its hydrated form
