what is Hyperthyroidism. What are its causes, treatments etc.why is it a hormonal diorder ? What hormonal disorder is it ? What age is it normally seen in !

1. Hyperthyroidism- It is a condition in which there is excess secretion of thyroxin. It results in high metabolism, protrusion of the eye balls, high BP, nervous tension, irritability, profuse swelling, weight loss and fatigue.
Causes: It is caused by number of reason. Some of them are:
1. Inflammation of thyroid

2. Graves' disease (an autoimmune disease caused due to varying amount of iodine in diet)
3. Tumor of thyroid gland etc.
4. Excess iodine consumption etc.

Treatment: Many drugs known as Thyrostatics (antithyroid drugs) like carbimazole, methimazole and propylthiouracil are used for treating this condition.

2. As it affects the normal secretion of hormone form thyroid gland that adversely affects our body, so it is a hormonal disorder.
3. It is a disorder resulted due to over secretion of thyroxine hormone.
4. It occurs at any age but is most common in women aged between 20 to 50 years.
