Biological magnification or bio accumulation is that process in which some harmful chemicals like pesticides or heavy metals move upward in the food chain and as they are mixed into river or lakes and taken or eaten up by aquatic animals which are further taken by reptiles or other animals including humans and so the chemicals are transferred and move up in the food chain. In simple words , it is the increase in concentration of any toxic matter in food chain.
