1) In Manufacture Of H₂SO₄ by Contact Process involves-

• Burning of sulphur or sulphide ores in air to produce SO₂

• Conversion of SO₂ to SO₃ by the reaction with O₂ in presence of V₂O₅ (catalyst)

• Absorption of SO₃ in H₂SO₄ to produce H₂S₂O₇ (oleum)

• Dilution of oleum (H₂S₂O₇) with water gives sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄) of desired concentration.

and 2) Frothing or foaming reagent is the substance used for facilitating the formation of foam.
